Day 136- The Bible Recap
Day 136 | Psalms 3-4, 12-13, 28, 55
Today's reading is Psalm 3-4, 12-13, 28 and 55. Here's what stood out to me:
Despite David's many reasons to be fearful, his faith in the LORD as his Protector was greater! David described the LORD as the lifter of his head...The LORD, through His Word, is able to refocus our minds off ourselves and onto His unwavering strength and sovereignty.
It is the LORD who puts joy in our hearts...not man or possessions. 4:7 It is the LORD who gives us peace...not man or possessions. 4:8
Even though David felt the wicked had the upper hand, he trusted in the LORD's steadfast love and recognized that the LORD dealt bountifully with him.
The LORD is our strength and shield. When our hearts trust in Him, we are helped, and our relief brings exaltation.
Could the friend who betrayed David, mentioned in Psalm 55, be David's counselor, who we read about in 2 Samuel 15?
We can cast our burdens on the LORD, and we can trust Him with them!
