Day 140- The Bible Recap
Day 140 | Psalms 5, 38, 41-42
Today's reading is Psalm 5, 38, and 41-42. Here's what stood out to me:
David began his prayer asking first for the LORD to hear him. He was intentional about his requests. David desired to see justice carried out against the wicked who spoke lies and practiced deceit. David called attention to the abundance of the LORD's steadfast love and his blessings and protection over the righteous.
David described his painful state, both mentally and physically, as a result of his sinful choices. He recognized that only the LORD could answer him. He confessed and asked the LORD to be near him.
Even though David is very sick and felt everyone around him wished him dead (whether this was true or not), he had faith the LORD had good intentions for his life and would remain with him forever.
Since He created us, it only makes sense that our souls should long for and thirst for the LORD. Our circumstances will always have a tendency to cast us down, but it is our hope in the LORD that sustains us.
