Day 155- The Bible Recap
Day 155 | Proverbs 4-6
Today's reading is Proverbs 4-6. Here's what stood out to me:
4:7 says, "the beginning of wisdom is this: Get Wisdom." It sounds like such a simple statement, but it's oh so true. Wisdom doesn't haphazardly find its way to us; we must be intentional about seeking truth from God's Word!
4:14–15 reminds us to steer clear of the path of the wicked, to avoid it entirely. When we encounter something and feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit to leave or stop...We need to listen!
The wicked are in the dark and don't even realize the destructive struggles they are caught up in. This is even more reason why we shouldn't seek wisdom from this type of people.
5:6 says the adulterer doesn't "ponder the path of life..." They don't think of the lives their actions can ruin. They are blinded by their sin.
The sins of the wicked ensnare them, and they are bound tightly. They avoid instruction and are led astray because of it.
The LORD hates prideful eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, hearts that devise wicked plans, feet that run quickly to evil, false witnesses who lie, and those who create fighting amongst each other.
6:27–28 tells us that it's extremely difficult to live around and amongst sin and not eventually participate in it or become affected by it. It's never worth the risk!
