Reflect with us:

Today's reading is Proverbs 13-15. Here's what stood out to me:

Wisdom comes from seeking truth. Real truth is found in God's Word. Through discipline, we learn to seek after His Word like a treasure to be found. But it takes work.

A person's character is displayed through their conversation. We are instructed to leave the presence of a fool. We won't find knowledge there.

Verse 12 of chapter 14 says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but it's end is the way to death." This is why it's so important that we seek wisdom in God's Word and surround ourselves with wise people.

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life. The fear of the LORD causes us to test what we hear. We should always test what others say by the Word of God.

Humility comes before honor. When we realize our depravity, we understand there's nothing to be proud of, but rather it's been replaced with gratitude for something we never could have done on our own. And continuing in God's Word, seeking wisdom, reminds us of that.
