Reflect with us:

Today's reading is 1 Kings 7 and 2 Chronicles 4. Here's what stood out to me:

Now the attention moves to the construction of Solomon's house, which sounds more like a palace. Some of the same materials used in the temple were used in Solomon's home. It took him 7 years to build the temple and 13 years to build his own house.

I read something interesting about the two pillars used in the temple...Jachin and Boaz. Jachin means "God shall establish" and Boaz means "in his strength".

I also read that the pomegranates mentioned in 4:13 represent fruitfulness. The various colors throughout are also symbolic. Blue is for the color of heaven itself; purple is for royalty; crimson represents the redemptive blood of Christ; and white points to the holy walk.
