Reflect with us:

Today's reading is Proverbs 27-29. Here's what stood out to me:

27:6 says, "Faithful are the wounds of a friend." Verse 9 says, "The sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel." Verse 17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Godly friends keep us accountable to the LORD and His Word. I am so very grateful for those priceless friends in my life!

27:19 says, "The heart of a man reflects the man," which is why the LORD continually looks at the heart.

When we read God's Word and see the many accounts of times the LORD lovingly warned those who continued to go astray, we understand His justice. 28:5

The treasure of confessing our sin is mercy.

28:26 reminds us, "Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered." His Word gives us the wisdom to deliver us!

Our pride will bring us low, but humility brings honor.

29:25 says, "The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe." This should also tell us that it is not man's approval that we should be living for.
