Day 009- The Bible Recap
Day 009 | Job 21-23
Today's reading was Job 21-23. Here's what stood out me:
In 21:3 Job points out that instead of receiving encouragement and wise advice from his friends, he finds their comments as mocking him.
Job brings up an excellent argument against his friends who keep trying to tell him that the wicked don't prosper. 21:7-18 I'm sure we all have wrestled with why good things happen to the wicked...but those good things are temporary!
I love how in the Recap, Tara Leigh said "our lot in life isn't a good barometer for the state of our heart."
Job calls out his friends again in 21:34, "How then will you comfort me with empty nothings? There is nothing left of your answers but falsehood."
23:3-8 speaks to Job feeling like God's presence is far from him. Another emotion I'm sure we've all felt at some point. One thing I came to cherish about being in God's Word this past year is encountering His presence and His peace. His Word is alive!!!
Even though Job feels far from God he has faith that after this trial is over, he will "come out as gold". 23:10-12
God is unchangeable! 23:13 Let that sink in! I am so very grateful my life is built on the Rock!
And finally in 23:14... "For He will complete what He appoints for me..." God has a designed plan for my life just like He did for Job. And just like He does for you. His will and His plan can't be undone by man!
