Day 015- The Bible Recap
Day 015 | Job 40-42
Today's reading is Job 40-42. Here's what stood out to me:
After hearing the Lord speak Job recognizes how small he is and even goes so far as to put his hand over his mouth to ensure he doesn't speak anything in that moment. 40:4-5
40:8 could be addressing the times Job cast blame on God...remember 30:19-21, "God has cast me into the mire...You have turned cruel to me."
In 40:10-14 God challenges Job to do things only God can do...for him to see it's an impossibility.
God points out in 40:15-41:34 that with these mighty creatures He has created...man doesn't have a chance against them...so what makes Job think he can bring a case against God, the One who created them.
Job recognizes his inabilities which in turn reminds him of his proper place before God and he repents. Job's relationship with God has deepened through this trial...from hearing to now seeing. 42:1-6
Chapter 42 ends with God calling out Job's friends in anger because they didn't speak truth of Him. He even tells them He will only accept their sacrifice if Job presents the prayer on their behalf. God then restores Job with twice as much as he had before.
For me in the trial sometimes it's hard to see to the other side...to see the good God has in store. That is where trust comes in. God knows the end of the story and I can be confident in that because I trust Him!
Friends we made it through Job!!! Back to Genesis tomorrow. Did anything stick out to you today?
