Day 045- The Bible Recap
Day 045 | Leviticus 5-7
Today's reading is Leviticus 5-7. Here's what stood out to me:
The beginning of chapter 5 spoke to the importance of asking for forgiveness when sins, whether deliberate or unintentional, are realized. This was a reminder to myself to ask the Lord daily to reveal any sin in my life that I might confess to Him.
The Lord didn't cater to the wealthy. He made acceptable atonement available for all classes. 5:7-11
Tara Leigh mentioned this as well but numerous times in chapter 7 a person was to "be cut off from the people" when they didn't follow the law. This would deter those around them to be so easily influenced by the one disobeying the law. There were some that didn't take God's laws seriously...not someone you want around camp because that could lead to death.
God provided a way through sacrifices that His people might atone for their sins and not just remain in them. I've often wondered if over time these sacrificial ceremonies became more routine versus heart wrenching. But I guess I could ask the same thing of the weight of my sin...do I take it lightly? When I ask for forgiveness do I turn towards repentance/change or feel like I checked off a box?
Hope you are enjoying your weekend! I appreciate you all!
