Day 057- The Bible Recap
Day 057 | Numbers 7
Today's reading is Numbers 7. Here's what stood out to me:
While this chapter is the second longest in the Bible (Psalm 119 is the longest) and is filled with a lot of repetition, it is still very significant.
Sometimes it's easy to lose attention in the repetition. But it is important to note that each of these men, mentioned by name, gave to the LORD...every detail and measure was recorded. It was important enough to the LORD to be included in the Scriptures.
All 12 tribes were represented. The gifts were given to the Levites as they could not contribute their own since their time and talents were spent serving in the tabernacle.
I love that Tara Leigh pointed out "when everyone works together, giving from what God has abundantly provided for them, then God's tabernacle is taken care of and God's leaders are taken care of." And all are blessed by the contributions. This also applies to our services and tithes contributed to LIFEHOUSE...the load can't fall on just one person, it takes all to contribute. In the giving though, whether it's our time or tithes, we are ultimately blessed ourselves.
