Day 066- The Bible Recap
Day 066 | Numbers 28-30
Today's reading is Numbers 28-30. Here's what stood out to me:
After the new census had been conducted and a new commander chosen, Joshus, the LORD reviewed the sacrifices with the people.
I'm not in any way trying to make light of the circumstances but my immediate thought was did everyone write these down and have them with them to remember? The difficulty in not skipping a step would be so very daunting to me...again a very weighty feeling! This reminds me though of the seriousness of my sin. Sin can't be ignored. It had/has to be atoned for. With us, the Holy Spirit reveals our sin and then hopefully we seek forgiveness and repent.
I found it interesting that my study Bible said during the Feast of Booths the Israelites lived in temporary dwellings (booth) as a reminder of their life in the wilderness. Again the importance of reflecting on the goodness of God to help us in present times or present troubles.
Chapter 30 concerned the importance of keeping vows to the LORD. Without context it may have seemed like women were being slighted but in reality this law would've protected women who may have vowed out of desperation. I love that the LORD always looks to the heart as an indicator not just outward appearances!
