Day 068- The Bible Recap
Day 068 | Numbers 33-34
Today's reading is Numbers 33-34. Here's what stood out to me:
Chapter 33 is a great reminder to me (amongst the many names I can't pronounce) that the LORD was so very faithful to the Israelites. Each of these stops represented another place the LORD got them to safety, another place He provided shelter, food and water. It may have taken them 40 years instead of a couple of weeks, but in all those places the LORD continued to dwell with them and pursue them despite themselves. He is such a good, good, Father!
At the end of chapter 33, the LORD made it extremely clear that when the Israelites got into the promised land of Canaan they were to drive out all the current inhabitants, destroy their idols and worship places. Why was this so important?..so that it was a clean slate, so that there were no prior temptations to fall into, as we've seen before they were very easily influenced by the culture of the nations around them.
The LORD was very detailed when He outlined the borders of the promised land the Israelites were to inherit from Him. When the LORD gave them this land it was meant as an eternal possession.
Continuing to pray for you all as you read!
