Day 074- The Bible Recap
Day 074 | Deuteronomy 11-13
Today's reading is Deuteronomy 11-13. Here's what stood out to me:
Moses continued to emphasize the important practice of remembrance. Remember your past sins, remember the might of the LORD and the great works you've seen Him do. 11:7
Obedience to His commands was the key to their growth both spiritually and physically. He warned them of the temptation to turn to other gods...which would lead to decline and eventually death. 11:13-17
They were to set up reminders for themselves all around them to obey...our human minds are quick to worry and wander. They were to teach their children because these commandments didn't come naturally to them. 11:18-19
As much as there was a blessing for obedience, there was a curse for disobedience. 11:26-28
When they entered the land, they were to destroy all the previous idols and worship sites. The LORD would instruct them where to set up their worship place...they were not to use their own judgment to decide this. Remember the LORD is Holy and sets the guidelines. 12:8-13
Again following/worshipping other gods was brought up. This was such an easy temptation to fall into. Faith without sight is not an easy task. Our human minds want to be able to see and touch something. He warned them to be prepared for those to come along and lead them astray. Worshipping idols seemed to have a domino effect on others. The solution..."walk after the LORD your God, fear Him, keep His commandments, obey His voice, serve and hold fast to Him." 13:4
