Day 085- The Bible Recap
Day 085 | Joshua 12-15
Today's reading is Joshua 12-15. Here's what stood out to me:
Chapter 12 recorded the 31 kings the LORD allowed the Israelites to defeat. This record acted as a reminder to the people of all the great things God had done for them.
The LORD told Joshua even though he was advanced in years, there was still much more land for the Israelites to acquire. And even better the LORD said He would drive them out Himself. 13:7
The land inheritances of the tribes were recorded. There was noted a few people groups that the Israelites didn't drive out...the Geshurites and Maacathites (13:3), and the Jebusites (15:63). Remember numerous times the LORD commanded them to drive them ALL out.
The tribe of Levi wasn't given an inheritance because the LORD was their inheritance.
Today is day 85 of reading through the Bible friends! How exciting! I would love for you to share something new you've learned up to this point, or something you're grateful for in His Word, or even something God has been reminding you as you've read. Your answers can be short or long, either way I think they will be an encouragement to us all.
For me it's that God has always faithfully, lovingly been pursuing His people since the beginning of creation. And not only pursuing but providing! When we sang Same God last Sunday, I thought that is exactly what I have been hearing from the LORD as we have been reading through the Old Testament. "You heard Your children then, You hear Your children now, You are the same God. You answered prayers back then, and You still answer now, You are the same God. You were providing then, You are providing now, You are the same God. You moved in power then, God move in power now, You are the same God. You were a healer then, You are a healer now, You are the same God. You were a Savior then, You are a Savior now, You are the same God." So very grateful we serve a God who never waivers in His love, power, and sovereignty over us!
