Day 086- The Bible Recap

Today's reading is Joshua 16-18. Here's what stood out to me:

The people of Joseph received their land allotment. Again, it was mentioned prior inhabitants, in this case the Canaanites, were not driven out. All these leftover influences will prove to be detrimental to the Israelites. Remember how numerous times now God has made it very clear to drive them out.

In chapter 17 the LORD fulfilled His promise of land to the daughters of Zelophehad from Numbers 27.

Again, in 17:13, they didn't drive out the Canaanites and instead forced them into labor.

Joseph's people complained because they didn't feel they received their share of the land but that was mostly because they hadn't driven out the Canaanites. Joshua stood his ground and told them to drive them out regardless of whether they had chariots of iron or not...the LORD was on their side!
