Day 112- The Bible Recap
Day 112 | Psalms 6, 8-10, 14, 16, 19, 21
Today's reading is Psalm 6, 8-10, 14, 16, 19 and 21. Here's what stood out to me:
David pleaded for his sins in Psalm 6. And by God's mercy, He heard David's plea, as He hears our pleas today as well!
After recently viewing the Northern Lights, you can most certainly understand Psalm 8. God is so magnificently great, yet He still cares for us! How crazy amazing is that? We can marvel at Him through creation and His Word. Speaking of marveling, this is a total rabbit trail, but last night we were reading through Matthew 8:5–13 as a family. We decided to do the challenge Pastor Tyler recently mentioned where you find 10 things in a passage or verse. After talking about all the obvious points, it dawned on me that it said Jesus marveled at the centurion. Jesus....the Creator of the Universe, who created everything from nothing and set the stars and planets in place, marveled at a human. And what did He marvel at? His faith! It wasn't his fame, stature, or appearance, but his FAITH that Jesus marveled at. When I stopped to think about that, it really blew me away, and I just had to share!
Evil and trials abound, but they don't stand above the LORD. The LORD "sits enthroned forever, He has established His throne for justice, and He judges the world with righteousness; He judges the people with uprightness."
Chapter 10 spoke to the difficulty of waiting to hear from the LORD. How it's hard to see evil prosper and not understand the why behind it because the final outcome is unknown to us. It's a call for the LORD to hear and respond to our pleas.
Israel's salvation is the LORD...not if but "when the LORD restores the fortunes of His people." The Israelites prayed for rescue throughout Psalm 14 and were confident in their "when."
There is no good apart from the LORD. In His presence there is fullness of joy, no matter our circumstances.
God's creations cry out His glory even when we don't!
His Word is uplifting and provides truth in our lives. Money and material things cannot provide that for us!
Let our words and hearts be focused on You LORD, so that they are pleasing to You.
Chapter 21 declared David's heartfelt gratitude towards the LORD for his victory. There was no question in his mind the reason for his success...the LORD who is strong and mighty!
