Day 114- The Bible Recap
Day 114 | Psalms 43-45, 49, 84-85, 87
Today's reading is Psalm 43-45, 49, 84-85 and 87. Here's what stood out to me:
David reminded himself in 43:5 to "hope in God." While he was in the midst of fleeing for his life, it would've been very easy to feel fearful and uncertain. We are to also put our hope in the LORD during our trials of uncertainty.
Psalm 44 brought a focus to remembrance of how the LORD defeated their foes in the past. "For not in my bow do I trust, nor can my sword save me. But You put to shame those who hate us." It is not our strength, which is fleeting, but the LORD's, which is eternal. 44 ended with the people calling for the LORD not to forget them, but God doesn't forget His people, even when they have forgotten Him. Deuteronomy 4:31
Even though the wicked prosper on earth, the LORD will deal justly with them after their death. They will not escape judgment due to their wealth or prosperity.
There is nothing better than spending time in the LORD's presence. It's humbling, comforting, and fulfilling. Nothing on earth can provide that same fulfillment. "For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere." 84:10
The LORD's steadfast love and righteousness will restore His people again.
