Day 115- The Bible Recap
Day 115 | 1 Chronicles 3-5
Today's reading is 1 Chronicles 3-5. Here's what stood out to me:
Chapter 3 recorded the family of David.
I always find it interesting when in the middle of a list of names is a brief story...something the LORD wants us to take notice of. Jabez was described as being more honorable than his brothers. His name meant pain, but he called upon the LORD to be with him, and the LORD granted his request. Seek the LORD in all things.
Chapter 5 began with the reminder that Reuben's birthright was given to Joseph's sons because of his sin against his father back in Genesis 35:22.
The descendants of Gad were valiant men who cried out to God in battle, and because of their faith in Him, He granted their plea.
On the other hand, the half tribe of Manasseh were allowed to be exiled by the King of Assyria because they walked away from the LORD and worshipped idols.
