Day 116- The Bible Recap
Day 116 | Psalms 73, 77-78
Today's reading is Psalm 73, 77 and 78. Here's what stood out to me:
Psalm 73 definitely asked some questions I'm sure we've all wondered before. Why does it seem like the wicked prosper? Even their prideful words seem to go unpunished. Beginning in verse 16, we began to see what to do when we ask these questions.
Asaph went to the sanctuary when he didn't quite understand. It was there that he knew in the end the LORD brings justice. But he also remembered in his frustrations (when his heart and flesh fail) that God was his strength and portion.
77 focused on remembrance and meditation as a way for the people to have courage and hope in the waiting. By looking back and seeing God's faithfulness in the parting of the sea and their exodus from Egypt, they had renewed hope in His ability to rescue them again.
78 covered Israel's history, from Egypt to David. There is a reminder in verse 4 to tell it to their generations of children.
Over and over again, we saw the failure and disbelief of the people, but the faithfulness of God remained. God protected and removed unbelievers from their midst again and again.
