Reflect with us:

Today's reading is 1 Chronicles 6. Here's what stood out to me:

Chapter 6 reminded us of the tribe of Levi and their very important roles in service to the LORD. The most prominent men of course were Moses, Aaron and Samuel.

Some men listed were put in charge of managing the worship music in both the tabernacle and the temple.

Aaron and his sons made offerings for Israel's atonement at the command of Moses, based on the promptings of the LORD.

We were again reminded the Levites didn't receive a portion of the land when the rest of the Israelites did. Instead, they received cities within the lands of the other tribes.

All these chronicles can be challenging to read through, but they were important to the generations at the time. They allowed them to figure out their specific role in the worship of the LORD, based on their family.

God cares about roles, so when we're given instruction about roles, we shouldn't disregard them.
