Day 118- The Bible Recap
Day 118 | Psalms 81, 88, 92-93
Today's reading is Psalm 81, 88, and 92-93. Here's what stood out to me:
The Israelites wanted to walk in their own ways, following other gods. The LORD gave them over to their stubborn hearts. His desire, though, was for them to listen to His commands, and He would step in for them and defeat their enemies. Even when they walked the other way, He desired for them to return!
Chapter 88 was a psalm of lament. However, the writer recognized the LORD as the "God of my salvation." Throughout his suffering, he continued to call out to the LORD..."in the morning, "every day, and "day and night."
It is good for us to give thanks to the LORD. It creates gratefulness in our hearts and takes our minds off ourselves.
The foolish man doesn't know or understand the faithfulness and lovingkindness of the LORD. Even though they may prosper now, they ultimately will face eternal destruction. The righteous, however, flourish because they are planted in the house of the LORD! Even in their old age, they produce fruit because they continually follow Him.
Nature is not stronger than our LORD because He created it! The LORD reigns over sin and death. We can trust Him!
