Reflect with us:

Today's reading is Psalm 102-104. Here's what stood out to me:

Some of the language in 102 reminded me of Job's lament during his dark days. The writer is very aware of his temporal body and contrasted it with the LORD's years, that have no end. The temporary things wither and are but a shadow, but the LORD is enthroned forever. While it seemed the writer was in a dark place, he still had hope in the LORD and what He would do for him.

Multiple times, chapter 103 mentioned the LORD's steadfast love and mercy towards us. Even in our readings of the Old Testament alone so far, we have continually seen the LORD pursue after His people, even though time after time they disobey...that's steadfast love!

Multiple times, a fear of the LORD is also referenced. This is a reverence of the LORD...recognizing His authority and keeping His commandments.

It is mind-blowing when we sit and think about God's creation and how He cares for it all. All the intricacies and how it's all happening at once, yet He's in charge of every occurrence. All this speaks to His majesty, which should encourage our hearts and give us a deeper trust in His knowledge, power, and plans for us!

Friends, we are almost 1/3 of the way through the Bible! So exciting! I hope that you all are being encouraged by it, as I am too!
