Reflect with us:

Today's reading is Psalm 106 and 107. Here's what stood out to me:

106:19–20 really stood out to me. "They made a calf in Horeb and worshipped a metal image. They exchanged the glory of God for the image of an ox that eats grass." It sounds absurd to us; did it seem right to them at the time? But sin can take us places we never thought we'd go. Did they eventually see the absurdity of choosing a chunk of metal over the LORD's presence, which would have been with them wherever they went?

Thankfully, again and again, we read of the steadfast love He had for them even still!

"Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction...He sent out His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction." 107:17-20

Time and time again, He delivered them from their distress.
