Today's reading is 2 Samuel 8-9 and 1 Chronicles 18. Here's what stood out to me:
David continued to be victorious only because of the LORD's help and protection.
He reigned over all Israel. David administered justice and equity to all His people. 8:16
David's son were priests.
David asked to show kindness to anyone left of the house of Saul, on Jonathan's behalf. Jonathan's crippled son, Mephibosheth, was brought before David. He was ready to be David's servant, but David restored his property and gave him a permanent place around his table. A picture of how we are broken and crippled without Christ, but He restores us and allows us to have a relationship with Him and blesses us while doing it.
