Day 130- The Bible Recap
Day 130 | Psalms 50, 53, 60, 75
Today's reading is Psalm 50, 53, 60 and 75. Here's what stood out to me:
God desired a relationship with His people..."Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, and call upon Me in the day or trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me." 50:14-15 Just going through a routine of sacrifice to Him was not going to save them. Just like checking boxes doesn't save us. God wanted their hearts...just like He wants our hearts!
Psalm 53 said the fool doesn't seek after God. The LORD desires for us to call upon His name and spend time with Him through prayer and the reading of His Word. Time spent with Him cultivates a relationship.
Even though Psalm 60 spoke to the woes of the people, they still recognized His holiness and that it was He, not them, who was in control.
All these psalms spoke to God's eventual judging of His people. But throughout He encouraged a relationship with Him. If we have a relationship with the LORD when judgement comes, "the horns of righteous shall be lifted up." 75:10 He provided the way for us to be considered righteous. Our only obligation...accept His gift of righteousness on our behalf.
